Alex Louth unveils new role three months after Logicalis departure
The anticipation over where Alex Louth is heading next can now simmer down
Alex Louth has finally revealed his next place of work after announcing his departure from Logicalis in March.
Unveiling his new role on LinkedIn, Louth is joining Irish IT services provider Version 1 as its managing director of the services reliability group and software asset management.
Louth said he will be "embracing" ASPIRE Managed Services in his new position, a customer centric approach to managed services developed by Version 1 and supported by Value Level Agreements.
"I've known some of the team at Version 1 for many years, and it's wonderful to be part of a business that matches the ambition and drive I was seeking in a new venture," Louth said in his post.
Version 1 ranked 40th in CRN's Top VARs 2024 list.
The £105.5m-revenue business most recently hit the headlines for its acquisition of UK-based Farsight Consulting, which brought €20m in additional revenue and 133 employees into Version 1's fold.
Leaving Logicalis
Louth kept the channel guessing after announcing he was set to leave Logicalis in March after more than five years at the group as its managing director.
Neil Eke was subsequently named as the new CEO for its operations in the UK, Ireland, and Channel Islands.
He stated "a change would be good" for himself and for Logicalis UKI and therefore made the "difficult" decision to leave.
In the three months since then, Louth has been making the most of his time with "school runs, tackling general DIY projects, and embarking on a few trips."
Although he did confess a lack of actual gardening while on his gardening leave, thanks to the absence of his green fingers.
