Cybersecurity vendor SonicWall has announced the launch of its new MSP suite for European partners, backed by a 24/7 SOC based in Europe.

This move aims to enhance threat detection and response capabilities while ensuring compliance with European regulations.

The new offerings include managed detection and response (MDR), security operations centre as a service (SOCaaS), and other managed security services tailored for MSPs and MSSPs in the EMEA region.

This expansion follows SonicWall's recent commitment to provide endpoint-agnostic and flexible solutions for its global partners.

SonicWall CEO and president Bob VanKirk emphasised the company's dedication to empowering partners, saying: "Our establishment of an EMEA-based SOC with European data residency further strengthens our promise to empower partners with local expertise and rapid response capabilities."

The timing of this launch is particularly significant, coming just ahead of the European Union's new DORA regulations set to take effect on 17 January, 2025.

These regulations will impose additional compliance requirements on cybersecurity providers and their customers.

Spencer Starkey, SonicWall's VP of EMEA, highlighted the importance of this move, saying: "SonicWall's new SOC is physical proof we're onboard ahead of this important new regulatory reality."

The announcement was made shortly after SonicWall's EMEA Partner Conference, Elevate 2024, held in Lisbon, Portugal, where partners received hands-on experience with the new managed security services solutions.

SonicWall hopes this announcement is proof of its commitment to supporting its partners in the face of evolving cyber threats and regulatory landscapes, particularly in the European market.

The new European-based SOC will provide local understanding of regional cyber threats, regulations, and business environments, enhancing the company's ability to serve its EMEA partners effectively.
