IT reseller SCC has announced the return of Andy Wright as its new UK commercial director.

The European technology solutions and services provider has also promoted Amy Simpson to the role of revenue operations director, in a reinforcement of its senior leadership team.

Wright, a channel ‘heavyweight' with 34 years of experience in reselling and distribution, returns to SCC after a seven-year hiatus.

Having previously spent 18 years in senior positions at the company, Wright left in 2017 to take on leadership roles at XMA and CDW.

In March 2023, Wright told CRN he was leaving XMA as it was "time to hang up his boots" after 32 years in the channel.

His surprise return to SCC comes with the mandate to lead the company's commercial strategy, drive profitable growth, and expand key partnerships and accounts.

"The opportunity to rejoin SCC was timely and something I couldn't turn down," Wright said.

He acknowledged the significant transformation SCC has undergone during his absence, citing the £7m refurbishment of its global headquarters in Birmingham and the challenges posed by the global pandemic.

"There are new challenges and new opportunities ahead that I am excited and motivated to meet," he added.

Amy Simpson, who has been appointed to the revenue operations director, joined SCC in May 2022 from UKCloud, bringing 17 years of experience in account management, partner management, and business development.

In her new role, she will lead SCC's RevOps team, focusing on sales enablement and transformation.

Adam Clark, CRO at SCC, expressed enthusiasm about both appointments.

"Andy brings with him a wealth of experience gained at SCC and other major IT companies," Clark said.

He also praised Simpson's contributions, noting her role in improving growth opportunities and sales enablement through data-driven insights.

The appointments come at a time when the technology solutions sector is facing rapid changes and evolving customer requirements.

With Wright's extensive industry experience and Simpson's focus on data-driven growth strategies, SCC is hoping to position itself to navigate these challenges and capitalise on new opportunities in the UK market.
