Computacenter vet Nickolls resurfaces at SCC as reseller pursues aggressive expansion

Channel vet Trevor Nickolls has joined as director of financial services, the company confirmed to CRN today.

Nickolls brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at Computacenter, Academia and Storm Technologies.

He commenced his new position in the second week of July.

Nickolls will report directly to Adam Clark, SCC UK's CRO.

Nickolls previously spent six months at Academia, having joined the fellow reseller as sales director in 2023.

He spent over two years at Computacenter after taking on the role of sector director for UK growth and enterprise in 2021 and bringing along at least four colleauges from Storm Technologies.

In his new role, Nickolls will expand SCC's specialist team that supports the financial and insurance sector.

He will focus on growing SCC's revenue in this sector by leveraging both new and existing accounts.

"We're thrilled to welcome Trevor, whose vast knowledge and experience of the financial services sector will help our customers to innovate and accelerate their digital transformation journeys," a spokesperson for SCC said.

"Our continued investment in growing this and other specialist areas underlines SCC's commitment to the FS sector and its wider customer base."

The hire is part of SCC's ongoing growth drive, as the reseller incorporates 2023 acquisition Vohkus and its majority investment in Nimble, as well as voice and collaboration service provider Resonate, which it bought out in February.

The firm is planning further deals in 2024, having yet to exhaust the £300m reserve allocated to buyouts in Europe until 2025.

It ranked 7th in CRN's 2024 Top VARs.
