What has been your business highlight of 2022?

It's tricky to nail down one, as there have been many this year. One of my key highlights would be the launch of our SMB-focused initiatives, programmes and subscription models across our PC and Print portfolios, including HP Flex and HP+ for business. These initiatives ChannelWeb.co.uk 47 A-LIST 2023 have helped drive growth in our reseller channel. The completion of the Poly acquisition is also very exciting. It underpins our relentless focus to innovate and enhance the hybrid working experience with hardware, software and services. Finally, I'd say witnessing the growth of our HP Amplify Impact programme. It's impressive to see the channel ecosystem not only adopt the programme but proactively engage with it.

If you were ruler of your own country, what law would you introduce first?

It would be great for people to adopt a positive mentality. I am a big believer in the phrase ‘glass half full' so people can find hidden opportunities and come up with creative ideas to overcome challenges.

Which channel or tech leader (outside of your own company) has impressed you most in 2022?

Toto Wolff - he runs the Mercedes Formula 1 (F1) team. Toto is a focused winner, driving a huge organisation and brand to success. He's going above and beyond to bring about positive change to the sport and the wider motor industry. I've been very impressed with the work he's been leading with the development of hybrid vehicles in F1.

If you had a warning label, what would it say?

"Eyes on the prize."

What was your first job?

I worked in a local supermarket, looking after the bakery aisle.

What was the last book you read, and was it any good?

Theo Paphitis' autobiography - it had some great business tips and was overall an amazing book to read. I appreciated how his journey through life was unplanned but how, through his resilience, he maximised his entrepreneurial spirit which contributed to his current success.

What's the most important lesson you've learned from another business leader or mentor?

Listen and respect the people you're talking to, regardless of their seniority, and always be your true authentic self.

Who would play you in a movie of your life?

John Cleese - he's both tall and funny.
