What has been your business highlight of 2022?
Our expansion into EMEA and our growth to a business with more than 3,000 partners in the region and team of nearly 300 people across eight offices in less than 24 months!
If you were ruler of your own country, what law would you introduce first?
Forcing all businesses that do business in the UK and generate revenues in the UK to pay taxes in the UK.
Which channel or tech leader (outside of your own company) has impressed you most in 2022?
SoftBank chairman & CEO Masayoshi Son. He and his team are just so in touch with the global tech market and trends in a unique way and we're grateful for their investment in Pax8.
If you had a warning label, what would it say?
"Warning: Phylip Morgan's enthusiasm and energy may cause combustion!"
What was your first job?
Muck spreading on the farm as a teenager. Dad paid me 50p per load.
What was the last book you read, and was it any good?
Surrounded by Idiots by Thomas Erikson. Not in my top 50 reads but a worthwhile read and a great manual for DISC Personality System. It reminded once again that diversity is critically important in any team.
What's the most important lesson you've learned from another business leader or mentor?
Steer the course. Often people quit just short of the line. Most business ideas and strategies are marathons not sprints!
Who would play you in a movie of your life?
Tom Cruise, of course!
