5. CDW
Revenue: £1.3bn (+23%)
With a 23 per cent revenue increase, the UK arm of CDW slipped down one spot in the ranking this year, highlighting the strong growth achieved by the Top 20, despite a challenging economy.
The growth was driven largely by an uptick in client device refreshes, in turn spurred by a spike in CDW's managed services business, Companies House filings show.
While CDW managed to retain its position this year, the UK subsidiary acknowledges the risk of losing market share to the competition, which it aims to mitigate by accelerating its managed services provision, improving response times in the supply of products and handling customer queries and by leaning on its existing relationships.
CDW first touched down in the UK with the acquisition of Kelway in 2014.
Despite several profit warnings in the first half of 2023, Illinois-HQ Fortune 500 outfit CDW remains the world's fourth-largest solutions provider, after a particularly strong Q3 2023.
The quarter's record profitability underscores the power of CDW's strategy underpinned by its resilient business model and financial rigour, CDW Chairperson and CEO Christine Leahy told sister title CRN US in November.
In its last set of full-year results, the global business delivered $23.75bn in sales, a 14.1 per cent uptick on 2021.
